Hagensborg

This historic community was settled in 1894 by a group of Norwegian settlers who made their way from Minnesota. Today groups can explore the charming town and experience the love the settlers had for the area. Visit the Sons of Norway Heritage House, a fully-preserved Norwegian period home built by settler Andrew Svisdahl at the turn of the century. Or discover the one-kilometre Saloompt Interpretive Trail along the Bella Coola River and catch a glimpse of some wildlife. End your tour at the Snootli Creek Hatchery that raises Chum, Chinook and Steelhead for release into local river, located just west of the town.
